We present a semi-numerical approach which allows the calculation of
four-loop tadpole diagrams. The method is introduced by presenting the
results for a scalar four-loop diagram. Finally, the application
of the method to the calculation of a physical quantity like the four-loop
vacuum polarization in QCD is discussed.
