TTP01-37 Measurement of neutron detection efficiencies in NaI using the Crystal Ball detector

We report on a measurement of the neutron detection efficiency in NaI crystals in the Crystal Ball (CB) detector obtained from a study of pi- p to pi0 n reactions at the Brookhaven National Laboratory AGS. A companion GEANT-based Monte Carlo study has been done to simulate these reactions in the CB, and a comparison with the data is provided.
