Institute for Theoretical Particle Physics (TTP)

This is an old revision of the document!

How do you find the institute?

Using public transportation:

There is a tram station right in front of the central railway station (Karlsruhe Hauptbahnhof). Take #2 direction Wolfartsweier or Durlach, #3 direction Siemensallee, or #S4 direction Bretten, Eppingen, or Heilbronn. In case you are not in a hurry, you may take #4 direction Waldstadt as well. Get off at the tram stop “Kronenplatz/Universität”. On the campus map, you find the tram stop near the middle of the southern edge.

By car:

Leave the motorway A5 at the exit Karlsruhe-Durlach, direction Karlsruhe. Keep going straight ahead (direction “Stadtmitte”) until you find signs “Universität”. Particularly under the first bridge, at the crossing where the tram goes underground, do not turn left, but stay in the right lane and go straight ahead. From this point onwards, follow the signs “Universität”. Before 5:30 p.m., driving onto the campus is restricted. If you just pass the main entrance with its barrier and follow the Adenauerring north, you will find a large public parking lot on your right. On the campus map, it is located in the north-eastern corner.

The last few steps to the institute:

For the last few steps, use the campus map: Our institute is located in the 11th floor of the Physikhochhaus (physics tower block), building no. 30.23. Watch out for the large “30” on the western part of the campus map.

In case you got lost nevertheless:

The city of Karlsruhe has a city map on its WWW server where you can find the university campus, Kronenplatz (=Berliner Platz) and Durlacher Tor in a central position.
